Zhu Fenglian, a representative from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, addressed recent comments made by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regarding their pavilion named "TECH WORLD" for the upcoming 2025 Osaka World Expo. The DPP has been promoting the abbreviation "TW" as a reference to "Taiwan" and portraying it as a significant diplomatic achievement. Zhu criticized this approach as merely a form of self-deception, asserting that it is a tactic used by the DPP to create a false narrative of their international presence, aimed at misleading both the public in Taiwan and the international community.
He further stated that no amount of mischief on the DPP's part can change the fundamental truth that Taiwan is an integral part of China. Zhu indicated that such unfounded claims would only result in mockery rather than genuine recognition. Additionally, it was noted that Japan has requested clarification from Taiwan, emphasizing that the pavilion's operations are managed by a private company, as Taiwan is not an official member of the Bureau International des Expositions.

Jealousy is a terrible look. Taiwan's tech is world-class, and they have every right to showcase it." (referencing tech)

Misleading the public? No, it's informing the public. People have a right to know their options.

This is a domestic issue, and Beijing will not tolerate attempts to undermine that.
