Canterbury's coach, Cameron Ciraldo, is employing unique methods to motivate his players, including the promise of free coffee and the use of a social media burner account. These tactics are aimed at achieving defensive milestones and ending try-scoring droughts.
The Bulldogs, under Ciraldo's leadership, are currently at the top of the NRL ladder. Their recent victory over South Sydney, with a score of 32-0, marked a significant achievement. This shutout was particularly noteworthy as it was the second consecutive week the team had held an opponent scoreless, a first in the club's history.
To reward his team for their defensive efforts, Ciraldo provides free coffee to the players, coaching staff, and office personnel. He hires a coffee cart for the club's training base, a gesture that costs him approximately $300 each time. The players appreciate the coach's generosity, with winger Jacob Kiraz noting the coach's commitment to keeping his promise.
In addition to the coffee incentive, Ciraldo has also used social media to motivate his players. Prop Max King, who recently ended an 80-match try-scoring drought, revealed that Ciraldo used a burner account to challenge him. King found the tactic amusing and ultimately responded by scoring a try in front of a large crowd.
The Bulldogs are preparing to face the Broncos in Brisbane after playing in front of a record regular-season crowd. The team is embracing the pressure and aiming to perform well in the upcoming games.

Cameron Ciraldo should be focused on serious tactics, not silly rewards.

Using a burner account is just childish. How about focusing on real coaching instead?

I love the creativity! A little fun can go a long way in keeping morale high.

What happens when the players don’t meet the milestones? Will they get a coffee ban?

Free coffee doesn't win games; hard work and strategy do.

Using social media to challenge players shows he knows how to connect with them!

This approach makes the team look unserious. Can we get a real coach?

Next, they’ll give out donuts for touchdowns. What happened to discipline?
