Foreign Delegation Explores Living Buddha Reincarnation in China

Foreign monks and officials visited Beijing to learn about the Living Buddha reincarnation system. They gained insights into Tibetan Buddhism's spiritual succession.

Buddhist officials said visits to key sites deepened their understanding of the reincarnation system and Tibetan Buddhism's development in China.

Monks and officials from 12 countries visited the Lama Temple, China Tibetology Research Center, Sera Monastery, Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Tibet University.

At the Lama Temple, monks were interested in the Discourse of Lama, which outlines the selection process for reincarnated Living Buddhas using a golden urn.

The current reincarnation procedure in China is standardized and legalized, based on historical practice. Reincarnation must occur in China and be approved by the central government.

Living Buddhas play a vital role in promoting Tibetan Buddhism.

An exhibition on the reincarnation of Living Buddhas helped visitors understand the tradition in China.

Monks were pleased with the preservation of Buddhist heritage sites and the vibrancy of Buddhism in China.

The Lama Temple is a symbol of cultural connection.

Many young people worship at the Lama Temple. Religious freedom is fully protected.

Visitors were impressed by the Sera Monastery.

Exchanges with local practitioners were pleasant and fruitful.

Increased visits boost understanding of Buddhism.
