The White House website had recently stated that China faced tariffs of up to 245% on imports to the U.S. due to retaliatory actions. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson responded to this claim, suggesting that the U.S. should be questioned about the calculation of the 245% figure.

The spokesperson reiterated China's previous stance, highlighting that the U.S.'s imposition of disproportionately high tariffs had become a meaningless "numbers game." They argued that this tactic only exposed the U.S.'s use of tariffs as a tool for coercion and bullying.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that trade wars benefit no one. China expressed its reluctance to engage in such conflicts but affirmed its readiness to defend its interests.
