Corinthians, a Brazilian football club, has terminated the contract of their Argentine coach, Ramon Diaz. The decision was made following a disappointing start to the season, with the team only managing to secure four points in their first four Brasileirao matches.
Diaz's tenure began positively, as he led the club to victory in the Paulista Championship at the end of March. However, the team's performance in the Brazilian top flight has been underwhelming, culminating in a recent 2-0 loss to Fluminense on Wednesday.
The club's poor showing in the Copa Sudamericana also played a role in the coach's dismissal. In an official statement, Corinthians expressed their gratitude to Diaz for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Diaz, who is 65 years old, took charge of Corinthians in July of the previous year. During his initial season, he helped the team avoid relegation and secure the Paulista 2025 championship.
Following Diaz's departure, Orlando Ribeiro, the U-20 coach, will oversee the first team's training session on Friday. The club has stated that they have not yet contacted any other potential replacements for the coaching position.

Four points in four games plus the struggles in Copa Sudamericana? Right call from the club.

The players weren't performing, and maybe Diaz couldn't motivate them.

Total disgrace! Diaz was just getting started after winning the Paulista. Give him a chance!

He had a great start, then fell apart. The results speak for themselves.

The team looked lost on the field. A change was needed to reset.

They'll regret this. Diaz was rebuilding something. Now it's starting over.

I'm disappointed. Diaz deserved more respect and a longer leash.

Another coaching change? This constant instability never works.

The pressure of a big club is overwhelming, but this is a rash decision.
