Gan Siow Huang of the People’s Action Party is set to run again for the single-seat ward of Marymount in the upcoming election.
During an appearance at the PAP branch office of Toa Payoh West-Thomson on Friday, April 18th, Ms. Gan reflected on her past five years. She stated that she had strived to connect with residents, particularly those in vulnerable situations, and to foster a distinct identity for Marymount.
Ms. Gan shared a poignant moment from a house visit, where an elderly resident expressed in Mandarin the MP's fundamental responsibility to care for all Singaporeans, regardless of the difficulties.
She also highlighted the ward's efforts to translate concepts into tangible actions. This included the implementation of new community programs and improvements to public infrastructure, with the aim of creating a more inclusive and accessible environment for all.

It’s hard to trust someone who’s been part of a long-standing party that many criticize for their policies.

Elderly residents deserve more than just a kind visit; they need effective policies that improve their lives.

What’s the point of community programs if they don’t address the real needs of the residents?

Marymount deserves fresh ideas and vision, not the same old politician recycling rhetoric.

Talk is cheap. We need candidates who actually listen and implement meaningful change.

Looks like yet another candidate trying to regain our trust with nothing substantial to show.
