The Singapore United Party (SUP) has announced five individuals who are expected to compete in the upcoming General Election within the Ang Mo Kio GRC. The party's leadership, including Secretary-General Andy Zhu Laicheng, Chairman Ridhuan Chandran, and Treasurer Noraini Yunus, are among the potential candidates.
The remaining potential candidates are Nigel Ng, a flight attendant, and Vincent Ng, a businessman. The team was presented to the media by Mr. Zhu on Thursday evening at the Kebun Baru Food Centre in Ang Mo Kio.
During the brief introduction, Mr. Zhu stated the party's commitment to a more just and equitable Singapore, emphasizing their dedication to collaborating with the ruling government to achieve these objectives. The press conference was notably short, lasting less than ten minutes and starting almost an hour late. The party did not entertain questions and departed soon after the introductions, citing an urgent matter.
Following the press conference, SUP informed the media that the team members proceeded to pay their election deposits. They were later observed interacting with residents during a walkabout at the food centre.

Let’s give them a chance! All parties need to start somewhere, and this could be a great beginning.

It’s time for fresh blood, yet we get the same faces from past parties. Where's the innovation?

Collaborating with the ruling government? We need a party that challenges the status quo, not one that supports it!

This is just a publicity stunt. Real political engagement requires accountability, not short appearances.

Not impressed by their lack of transparency. If they're already acting secretive, how will they govern?

The mix of business and service backgrounds could bring a unique perspective to politics—let’s see how it unfolds!

Why didn’t they take questions from the media? Seems like they have something to hide.

The short press conference shows they value efficiency. It’s refreshing compared to lengthy political speeches.

I think it’s good they’re serious about paying their election deposits—shows commitment to the candidacy.

We need a party that stands for what’s right, not just a group that wants to get into power.

Good luck trying to connect with residents when you can't even communicate properly in a press conference.
