On the morning of April 17, a significant traffic accident occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway in Singapore, leading to injuries for 22 people. The Singapore Civil Defence Force received an emergency call around 7:55 am regarding the collision, which took place on the AYE heading towards the Central Expressway, just before the turnoff for the Pan Island Expressway.
According to police reports, a total of 15 motorcycles, one van, one lorry, and three buses were involved in the incident. Following the crash, nine individuals were transported to the National University Hospital, while another 13 were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for treatment.
Witness accounts and videos shared on social media demonstrated the chaotic scene, with one video showing a van, lorry, and two buses at the site of the accident. Among those depicted were multiple individuals seated on the roadway with several motorcycles parked alongside. Another post highlighted the aftermath, showcasing a yellow Causeway Link bus with its windshield damaged, suggesting the severity of the crash. Efforts to gather additional information from Causeway Link are ongoing.
