China's Dominance

Chinese Navy Launches Official Social Media Account on X

The People's Liberation Army Navy of China made a significant move by establishing its official account on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, on a Monday. This marks a historic moment as it is the first official military account from China to be created on an international social channel. The account features a blue verification checkmark alongside a background image showcasing a dual aircraft carrier formation. Since its inception, two posts have been shared, with the latest outlining the Chinese Navy's commitments to various missions, including escort operations in the Gulf of Aden and humanitarian efforts, emphasizing its role as a guardian of territorial sovereignty and a proponent of a collective maritime future.

Military expert Zhang Junshe commented on the significance of this development, describing it as a strategic step by the Chinese military to connect with the global audience and showcase their commitment to transparency. By utilizing this international platform to communicate in English about their naval advancements, capabilities, and collaborative military efforts, the Chinese Navy aims to foster a better understanding of its operations among the international community and strengthen its global presence on social media. Zhang further noted that the navy's unique international role allows it to share real-time updates on joint exercises, port visits, and emergency operations, enhancing awareness of its contributions worldwide. He encouraged other navies to engage with the Chinese Navy through this new account. Prior to this, organizations like the Beijing Xiangshan Forum had also established their presence on X, contributing to better insights into the Chinese military efforts.

Global audience? They're just trying to spread their influence. No ulterior motive there, eh?

Verified already? Seems suspicious. Another channel for propaganda, I bet.
