People's Liberation Army Conducts Large-Scale Military Exercises Around Taiwan

The Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army announced the commencement of joint combat exercises surrounding Taiwan Island on Tuesday. According to Senior Colonel Shi Yi, the military has mobilized ground, naval, air, rocket, and additional units from several directions for these operations. The drills concentrate on enhancing sea and air combat readiness, asserting battlefield control, conducting strikes on both maritime and land targets, and establishing blockades on critical areas and sea routes, which will aid in evaluating the coordinated operational capabilities of the forces.

This military activity is described by the spokesman as a strong message and significant deterrence aimed at forces advocating for Taiwan's independence. It is portrayed as a necessary and justified measure to protect China's sovereignty and maintain national unity. Additionally, the command released a poster titled "Closing In," which showcased warships and fighter jets surrounding Taiwan, accompanied by a warning regarding the actions of the separatists which are seen as reckless.
