On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian addressed reports concerning the Trump administration's release of $5.3 billion in previously frozen foreign aid. This aid package reportedly included $870 million in military assistance designated for the Taiwan region. Lin stated that China viewed these reports with serious concern.
Lin emphasized that the provision of US military assistance to Taiwan constitutes a grave violation of the one-China principle. He further stated that it contravenes the three joint communiqués established between China and the United States.
The spokesperson asserted that such actions severely infringe upon China's sovereignty and security interests. Furthermore, Lin argued that this assistance sends a misleading signal to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, a position that China has consistently opposed.
Lin urged the United States to halt its arming of Taiwan and to cease actions that could destabilize peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. He concluded by stating that China would closely monitor the situation and resolutely defend its national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

China's view of Taiwan is not reflective of the will of the Taiwanese people. They have their own identity!

If Lin is so concerned about peace, maybe China should stop threatening its neighbors.

Support for Taiwan is not just about military aid; it's about supporting democracy and human rights.

This is not about separating Taiwan from China; it’s about respecting Taiwan’s right to exist independently.

Supporting Taiwan treacherously undermines the principle of 'One China.' It's time for the US to pull back.

China has every right to defend its sovereignty. The US should mind its own business.

Let’s promote dialogue instead of conflict. The US actions threaten to escalate tensions.

We should commend China for wanting to maintain stability and sovereignty in its own region.
