On April 14, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) announced the successful dismantling of a 1.2-kilometre-long underground route used by terrorists in northern Gaza. Near this route, the IDF discovered a weapons storage facility believed to hold approximately 20 explosive devices and an anti-tank guided missile, among additional weapons. During this operation, Israeli Air Force aircraft targeted several terrorists who were reportedly attempting to plant an explosive device close to IDF soldiers. The IDF communicated these findings via a post on X, highlighting the swift coordination of the airstrike and showing a video clip showing individuals on the ground involved in these activities.
In a separate but related development, earlier that same day, Israel conducted missile strikes on Gaza’s al-Ahli Hospital, which severely damaged its emergency unit, rendering the only operational hospital in northern Gaza inoperative, according to reports from Al Jazeera. Health officials evacuated patients, including those in critical condition, ahead of the strike, which followed a warning from the Israeli military. The Palestinian Civil Defence reported that this bombing led to substantial destruction, compromising both the surgery facility and the oxygen generation system essential for intensive care units.
The Gaza Government Media Office condemned the missile attacks as a "heinous and filthy crime," asserting that Israel had systematically targeted and incapacitated 34 hospitals, thereby dismantling the region's healthcare infrastructure. The IDF, however, defended its actions by claiming that the al-Ahli Hospital served as a command center for Hamas operations aimed at executing attacks against Israeli citizens and IDF personnel. A report from the UN Human Rights Office disclosed that between October 2023 and June 2024, Israeli forces carried out at least 136 assaults on hospitals and medical facilities across Gaza, leading to significant casualties among medical personnel and civilians, in addition to causing extensive infrastructural damage.

The IDF has a duty to protect its citizens, and that includes dismantling the terrorist infrastructure. The world needs to see the whole picture.

Utterly disgraceful. Targeting hospitals is a war crime. The destruction of the emergency unit, especially, is a calculated attack on innocent lives.

Targeting hospitals, schools, and civilian infrastructure is the definition of terrorism. They use a false narrative to cover for war crimes.

Evacuating patients doesn't erase the horror of the strike. They're left with no medical care and facing God only knows. How many lives were lost?

Our operation highlights our commitment to protecting Israeli citizens. We will continue to take decisive action against terrorists using civilian infrastructure.

Israel is targeted unjustly. Hamas hides in the hospitals to incite these attacks

This is genocide. The IDF's actions are a deliberate strategy to cripple Gaza's ability to survive. The world is silent as they systematically destroy everything.
