A seventeen-year-old from Wisconsin has been charged in connection with the deaths of his mother and stepfather. Federal authorities have stated that the alleged motive behind the killings was to acquire funds and independence, which the teenager believed were essential for a plot to assassinate President Trump and instigate a government overthrow.
The suspect, Nikita Casap, was apprehended last month in relation to the deaths of his mother, Tatiana Casap, and his stepfather, Donald Mayer. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the arrest.
Sheriff’s deputies discovered the victims' bodies at the family residence in Waukesha, located approximately seventeen miles southwest of Milwaukee. The discovery was made following a welfare check requested on February 28th.
Federal documents released on Friday revealed that the shootings were part of a larger scheme. Casap, who reportedly aligned himself with a right-wing terrorist group called the Order of Nine Angels, allegedly planned to assassinate President Trump. Investigators stated that Casap believed this act would "foment a political revolution in the United States.

We need to focus on mental health resources for young people instead of spreading fear about political factions.
