Sevilla announced the dismissal of their manager, Javier Garcia Pimienta, on Sunday. This decision came just two days after their 1-0 loss to Valencia, which marked their fourth consecutive defeat in LaLiga.
The club currently holds the 13th position in La Liga standings. With 36 points earned from 31 matches, they are significantly distant from the positions that would qualify them for European competitions. Furthermore, they are only seven points clear of the relegation zone.
In an official statement, Sevilla expressed their gratitude to Garcia Pimienta for his contributions and professionalism during his tenure. They also extended their best wishes for his future career endeavors.
Garcia Pimienta, aged 50, had signed a two-year contract with Sevilla in July of the previous year. He took over from Quique Sanchez Flores. Prior to his time at Sevilla, he had successfully guided Las Palmas to promotion in the 2022-23 season and ensured their survival in LaLiga the following season.
Sevilla's next LaLiga match is scheduled against Deportivo Alaves on April 20.

Short-sighted move by Sevilla. Won't solve the underlying problems.
