Titans Cornerback Sued Over Alleged Shooting at Texas Car Dealership
A Texas man is suing L'Jarius Sneed, a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, for at least $1 million. The lawsuit alleges that Sneed or his personal assistant shot at the man while he was inside a Mercedes-Benz on a car dealership lot in December.
The incident occurred on December 6th in Carrollton, Texas. The man, Christian Nshimiyimana, was inside a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon when shots were fired from a Lamborghini Urus. No one was injured in the shooting. Details of the police report are partially redacted.
According to Nshimiyimana's attorney, Levi McCathern, Sneed and his accomplice were arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. McCathern also claims that Sneed and a woman identified as Sneed's mother contacted Nshimiyimana afterward, attempting to dissuade him from cooperating with the police or retaining legal counsel.
McCathern stated that video surveillance from the dealership captured the car and the person who fired the shots. The lawsuit, filed in Dallas County, Texas, on February 20th, names Sneed and a "John Doe" as defendants. Nshimiyimana, who owns an exotic car rental business, was at the dealership researching vehicles for his company.
The lawsuit states that Nshimiyimana saw Sneed and his assistant at the dealership but did not recognize Sneed. The lawsuit suggests the defendants may have mistaken Nshimiyimana for someone else. McCathern believes this incident is part of a pattern of behavior and that Sneed should be held accountable.
Sneed was traded to the Titans last March and signed a new contract. He played in the first five games of the season before being placed on injured reserve due to a quadriceps injury. Sneed was drafted by Kansas City in 2020 and won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs.
