South Carolina Murder Suspect Arrested in the Netherlands
A South Carolina woman wanted in a murder investigation has been apprehended in the Netherlands by international authorities. The arrest was made on April 4th by the Dutch National Police at the request of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS).
The woman, Kendal Wilson, 33, of Seneca, South Carolina, and her mother, Cynthia Wilson, were sought in connection with the 2021 murder of Connor Ethan Floyd, 21, in Lyman, South Carolina. Floyd was Kendra's ex-boyfriend and the father of her child. Warrants were issued for both women on charges of accessory before and after the fact of murder, as well as conspiracy to commit murder.
Kendra and her daughter were located at a refugee camp. Authorities have safely recovered Kendra's daughter, who will be returned to family members. Kendra allegedly fled the United States in March after learning she was being charged in Floyd's murder, becoming an international fugitive.
A joint investigation was launched by the USMS Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Lyman Police Department. They coordinated with the USMS Office of International Operations and international partners in the Netherlands to find Kendra.
The USMS acknowledged the work of the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office in South Carolina and the Department of Justice Office of International Affairs. The legal process to arrest Wilson in the Netherlands was completed swiftly. Kendra is currently awaiting an extradition hearing.
A neighbor of Floyd's recalled hearing gunshots from his home on the night of the murder.
