Trump Administration Targets Shower Head Regulations in Effort to Reduce Overregulation
The Trump administration has been actively challenging regulations that were imposed by former Democrat presidents, with the definition of shower heads being the most recent focus. Under the Obama administration, a comprehensive regulation stretching 13,000 words detailed what constitutes a "shower head." In response, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at repealing this regulation.
The executive order highlights concerns about overregulation, asserting that it suffocates the economy and limits individual freedoms. Trump noted the lengthy regulations from previous administrations, referring to them as part of a "war on showers." The White House stated that the order is intended to resolve what they call the "Obama-Biden war on water pressure," with the aim of restoring quality to American showers.
In addition to shower heads, the Trump administration has made efforts to relax regulations on various household appliances, including gas stoves, water heaters, washing machines, furnaces, and dishwashers. Trump expressed his determination to eliminate these restrictions, arguing that in some areas, people struggle to get sufficient water pressure from faucets and shower heads due to these regulations, which he deemed unnecessary.
