New Jersey Woman Charged in Alleged Murder-for-Hire Scheme Involving Tinder Match
Jaclyn Diiorio, a 26-year-old resident of Runnemede, New Jersey, has been taken into custody after being implicated in a murder-for-hire scheme that involved a match she made on the Tinder dating app. Authorities report that she attempted to pay a man she met online a sum of $12,000 to execute her ex-boyfriend, who is a 53-year-old police officer in Philadelphia, along with his 19-year-old daughter.
The charges against Diiorio include first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Law enforcement agencies became aware of the alleged plan after the Tinder match alerted them to her intentions, as described in a Camden County criminal complaint. The interactions between Diiorio and the man involved messages and phone calls where she expressed her desire for harm to come to her former partner and his daughter.
Following their initial meeting on March 31 at a local Wawa convenience store, Diiorio is said to have communicated with the man until April 3, during which she reiterated her offer. After he reported the situation, police spoke with the targeted officer, who confirmed his relationship with Diiorio and detailed some of their tumultuous history, including a past incident of vandalism at his home and a temporary restraining order filed by Diiorio that was eventually dismissed.
On April 4, Diiorio allegedly met with the man again, this time in Gloucester Township, where she handed him $500 as a down payment for the planned executions. Shortly after this exchange, she was apprehended by police. Diiorio now resides at the Camden County Correctional Facility, awaiting a detention hearing scheduled for Wednesday, with the question of her potential bail still undecided.
