Indian Pilgrims Granted Visas to Pakistan for Religious Visits, Baisakhi Celebrations Announced
Over 1900 Indian pilgrims have been granted visas by Pakistan to visit religious sites in the country for Khalsa Sajna Diwas. The pilgrims expressed their joy at the opportunity to visit these sacred places.
One Sikh pilgrim shared that they would be visiting Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib, and other religious sites in Pakistan. The trip is scheduled to last ten days, commencing on April 10th.
Earlier, on April 7th, the Pakistan High Commission received a delegation of pilgrims in anticipation of the Baisakhi festival. The High Commission announced that the Pakistani government would issue over 6500 visas for the Baisakhi celebrations.
The High Commission also stated that this action reflects Pakistan's dedication to promoting and facilitating travel to sacred pilgrimage sites within the country.
In a separate address on March 30th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation as the country entered a month filled with various festivals. The Prime Minister emphasized how these festivals highlight the country's unity amidst its diversity.
The Prime Minister wished everyone well for the upcoming festivals and noted that these celebrations, though occurring in different parts of the country, demonstrate the unity woven into India's diversity. He encouraged the strengthening of this sense of unity.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the beginning of Chaitra Navratri and the Indian New Year, Vikram Samvat. He shared that he had received numerous letters from people across different states, including Bihar, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat, expressing their thoughts and wishes. He read messages in various languages, celebrating festivals like Ugadi, Sansar Padwa, Gudi Padwa, and the Hindu New Year. He explained that these messages were in different languages because the New Year was starting in various states across the country.
