AICTE Workshop at GITAM University Highlights Funding Opportunities for Students and Institutions

A workshop was recently conducted at GITAM Deemed to be University in Visakhapatnam. The event's primary goal was to increase understanding of the Sarswati Scholarship Scheme and other funding programs offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The workshop was designed to inform students, academic professionals, and institutions about the financial support options available.

The workshop drew a diverse group of attendees, including students, educators, and key stakeholders from the surrounding area. The Sarswati Scholarship Scheme, which supports deserving female students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing BBA/BCA/BMS degrees at AICTE-approved institutions, was a central focus.

Beyond the Sarswati Scholarship, the workshop also highlighted other AICTE funding schemes. These programs are designed to encourage innovation, skill development, faculty improvement, and research within the technical education sector. Participants received guidance on how to apply for various AICTE grants and scholarships.

An interactive session was included, allowing students and educators to ask questions and clarify any uncertainties about the initiatives. This interaction provided valuable information on how these funding opportunities can support educational and research projects, fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment.

Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary of AICTE, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about funding schemes like the Sarswati Scholarship, particularly among female students from Tier-II and Tier-III colleges and underprivileged communities. He highlighted that these initiatives contribute to a more dynamic and equitable educational system. He also encouraged colleges and faculty to actively share information about these opportunities to benefit a wider student population.

Dr. N.H. Siddalinga Swamy, Advisor to AICTE, provided a detailed overview of the various AICTE schemes available to all stakeholders. The event was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Errol D'souza, Vice-Chancellor of GITAM Deemed to be University, and other AICTE officials.

The workshop was positively received, with attendees expressing appreciation for the valuable information shared. It is anticipated that the event will lead to greater participation in AICTE funding programs, ultimately benefiting more students and institutions in the future.

Loved the interactive session! It’s essential to have open dialogues about funding opportunities.

Workshops like these are nice, but they don't address the root issues of accessibility in education funding.

Really? Another workshop? These events never lead to real change or support for students.

Prof. Rajive Kumar's focus on communication is key. The more we talk about these opportunities, the better!

Without more accountability from AICTE, these funding programs won't make any real difference.

Where are the results from previous workshops? It's just talk unless we see action.
