On April 8, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma participated in a World Health Day celebration in Jaipur, where he encouraged individuals to alter their lifestyles to fulfill the vision of a healthier Rajasthan. He emphasized the significance of health within the cultural context, suggesting that people tend to invite diseases through neglectful habits.
The grand event, held at the Rajasthan Ayurvedic Research Institute, saw the presence of key officials, including Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar. During the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated multiple health initiatives such as the 'Niramay Rajasthan Campaign,' 'Eat Right Rajasthan,' and 'Mission Madhuhari,' among others. Furthermore, a mobile application for the Chief Minister Ayushman Scheme and various health management systems were also introduced.
Significant investments amounting to Rs 26 crore were allocated for enhancing medical and health services. These projects included the establishment of important facilities such as the National Emergency Life Support Skill Center in Jodhpur and a Center of Excellence for Medical Genetics. The Chief Minister also inaugurated 22 Ramrath ambulances and highlighted the commendable efforts of the state TB unit in promoting TB-Free Village Panchayats.
Renowned hepatologist Dr. Shiv Kumar Sreen addressed attendees, warning that neglect of liver health could lead to serious conditions like diabetes and heart diseases. The Chief Minister took note of Dr. Sreen's recommendations, expressing interest in incorporating them into educational curricula. Additionally, Minister Khimsar focused on the necessity of health check-ups in rural areas and mentioned the recent recruitment of over 26,000 health workers.

Rs 26 crore? Seems like a drop in the bucket compared to the need. Where's the commitment to funding essential services?
