In Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, the chairman of the Child Welfare Committee, Deepak Tiwari, has called for a comprehensive investigation into the arrest of a man accused of performing surgeries at Mission Hospital. The man is alleged to have caused the deaths of at least seven patients. Tiwari expressed concern that the initial police report focused solely on the suspect's fake degrees, omitting crucial details.
Tiwari highlighted that the FIR did not mention the deaths, the hospital management, or the director, Dr. Ajay Lal. He believes that many individuals were involved and that significant sums of money were obtained through fraudulent use of the Ayushman health insurance scheme. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation that goes beyond the issue of fake credentials.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has stated that the government will take strict action in this case. He assured that there would be no delay in addressing such incidents and instructed the health department to take decisive measures against any similar cases within the state.
The case involves a man who allegedly posed as a doctor at Mission Hospital and performed surgeries, leading to the deaths of multiple patients. One victim's relative, Jitendra Singh Rajput, shared his experience of taking his father to the hospital for chest pain. Doctors recommended surgery, and despite the family's financial constraints, the Ayushman card was used. The father underwent surgery but did not recover, and the hospital staff advised against a postmortem examination.
Damoh Superintendent of Police Shrut Kirti Somavanshi confirmed the arrest of the accused, N John Camm, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. CSP Abhishek Tiwari previously reported that an FIR was filed against the accused for fraud and using fake documents. The accused allegedly performed fake surgeries, including angiography and angioplasty. His medical documents were found to be suspicious, and he was practicing medicine without proper registration in Madhya Pradesh.

I'm not sure I trust the police. We need a completely independent investigation.

This is a one-sided story. We need to hear the accused's version and see the evidence before jumping to conclusions.

The Ayushman scheme is mentioned, but how was it misused? That's a critical detail we are missing.

Could other factors like pre-existing conditions, post-operative infections, or negligence also have contributed to the deaths? We need to see the complete medical records.

How many other people have been harmed by this medical fraud? I hope this prompts action everywhere.

This is a clear example of why we need to improve healthcare oversight across our country.

The deaths are tragic, but focusing solely on fake documents downplays the actual causes of death. Where's the full medical analysis?

How can someone perform multiple surgeries and no one, not even the hospital staff, suspected anything? Something doesn't add up.
