The United Nations reported that nearly 400,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the Gaza Strip since the recent ceasefire agreement was broken. The UN indicated that no provisions have been made for civilian safety.
According to the UN spokesperson, Israeli attacks in Gaza continue without relent, resulting in widespread civilian casualties. Many children are among those killed, injured, and maimed. Survivors are repeatedly displaced and forced into an increasingly confined area where their basic needs cannot be met.
The spokesperson estimated that approximately 400,000 people, representing 18% of Gaza's population, have been displaced since the ceasefire collapsed. The UN also highlighted that Israel, as the occupying power, has not made arrangements to ensure the safety and survival of the displaced population.
Humanitarian efforts are nearing their breaking point. The UN is urging the immediate reopening of crossings to allow the delivery of essential goods and supplies. Efforts to bring in humanitarian commodities have been obstructed, with most attempts to coordinate aid movements being blocked.
The UN Secretary-General is aware of disturbing video footage of Israeli forces killing paramedics and is calling for an independent and transparent investigation into the incident. No vaccines, food, fuel, or other supplies have entered Gaza for over a month, including polio vaccines.
The conflict escalated on March 18 when the Israeli military resumed heavy bombardment of Gaza, resulting in nearly 1,400 deaths and over 3,400 injuries. This assault shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January. The Israeli Prime Minister has vowed to intensify the military campaign.
Since October 2023, more than 50,700 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's offensive, with the majority being women and children.

The sheer scale of the devastation is appalling. When will this end?

The UN always blames Israel. What about the rockets fired at Israel that started this?

The lack of aid and supplies is inhumane. The blockade must end.

This is one-sided propaganda! Where's the mention of Hamas using civilians as shields?
KittyKat
They are deliberately targeting civilians. This is a war crime.
