China's Dominance

China Invites More US Officials for Dialogue and Understanding

China extends an invitation to more members of the US Congress and individuals from diverse backgrounds to visit the country. The aim is to facilitate firsthand experiences and observations, fostering a more objective understanding of China. This, in turn, is intended to contribute constructively to the stable, healthy, and sustainable advancement of China-US relations.

These statements were made by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun in response to comments from US Republican Senator Steve Daines. Senator Daines, in a Bloomberg interview, expressed his intention to organize a bipartisan delegation of US senators to visit China later this year, pending the confirmation of David Perdue as the US ambassador to China.

Premier Li Qiang recently met with Senator Daines and a group of American business representatives attending the China Development Forum 2025. When asked about the future of dialogue between China and the US, Guo emphasized China's belief that the consistent, healthy, and sustainable development of their relationship aligns with the shared interests of both nations and the expectations of the global community.

Prior to his meeting with Premier Li Qiang, Senator Daines met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng. During this meeting, Daines highlighted the extensive common interests and significant opportunities for cooperation between China and the US, suggesting the potential for partnership and friendship, leading to mutual success and shared prosperity for both countries and the world. Furthermore, Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu also met with Senator Daines, engaging in in-depth discussions on China-US relations and matters of mutual concern.

We need to stand firm against China's assertiveness, not engage in diplomatic visits that yield no benefits.

A visit does not equate to understanding. It might just blind our lawmakers to the realities of China.

This is just China's way of trying to sidestep important issues like human rights abuses. We need to hold them accountable.
