On Saturday, the PLA Southern Theater Command reported that it had conducted combat readiness patrols on Friday. These patrols involved naval and air forces operating in the territorial waters and airspace near China's Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas.
The PLA Southern Theater Command stated that it has increased patrols and vigilance around Huangyan Dao since the start of January. This is intended to strengthen control over the maritime and aerial regions, protect national sovereignty and security, and maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea.
Following the PLA Southern Theater Command's announcement, the China Coast Guard (CCG) also released a statement. The CCG reported conducting law enforcement patrols on Friday within the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao and its adjacent areas.
The CCG indicated that it has been consistently strengthening its law enforcement patrols in the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao and its surrounding areas since January. The aim is to enhance control over the relevant maritime areas and safeguard national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
