Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his warm wishes for 'Ram Navami' on Sunday, expressing hopes for renewed zeal among the citizens. He shared his greetings on X, wishing that the sacred occasion of Lord Shri Ram's birth anniversary would bring fresh awareness and enthusiasm to everyone's lives. He further hoped it would continuously energize the commitment to a strong, prosperous, and capable India.
On this special day, Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to visit the Ramanathswamy Temple in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. During his visit, he was to inaugurate the new Pamban Bridge.
The new Pamban Bridge is designed to replace the older bridge, which was constructed in 1914 and was closed in 2022 due to corrosion. The bridge stretches over 2.5 kilometers and was constructed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) at a cost of Rs 535 crore.
Meanwhile, numerous devotees gathered at Ayodhya's Ram Temple to celebrate the auspicious occasion. Before entering the temple, many devotees took a holy dip in the Saryu River in Ayodhya. The Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya was beautifully decorated with vibrant flowers and dazzling lights, attracting devotees from across the nation to celebrate Lord Ram's birth.
Devotees also visited the Hanumangarhi Temple in Ayodhya. The priest of Hanumangarhi temple, Mahant Raju Das, extended greetings on Ram Navami. He mentioned that the morning prayers began at 3 am and that a large number of devotees were offering prayers. He offered his best wishes to all devotees and prayed for the well-being of the world.
Ram Navami is observed annually throughout India on the final day of Chaitra Navaratri, commemorating the birth of Lord Rama. On this auspicious day, young girls, representing the nine forms of the goddess Durga, are traditionally offered gifts and prasad.
