Rapper Young Scooter Dies at 39 After Jumping Fences While Fleeing Police
Rapper Young Scooter, known for his collaborations with Future and Waka Flocka Flame, died on his 39th birthday in his hometown of Atlanta. The cause of death was injuries sustained while jumping fences while fleeing police.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the death of Kenneth Edward Bailey, known professionally as Young Scooter.
According to Atlanta police, officers responded to reports of shots fired at a home on William Nye Drive SE. Upon arrival, a male opened the door and immediately shut it on the officers. Police then cordoned off the area to search for a suspect.
During the search, two males fled out the back of the house. One returned, while the other jumped two fences. When officers located him on the other side, he appeared to have suffered a leg injury.
Police emphasized that the injury was not caused by the officers but occurred during the man's escape.
Young Scooter was taken to Grady Marcus trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy is pending to determine the official cause of death.
Born in Waterboro, South Carolina, Young Scooter entered the Atlanta hip-hop scene at a young age. He maintained a consistent presence throughout the 2010s, appearing on songs by Future, Young Thug, Juicy J, Kodak Black, and Rick Ross.
"I don't really care what I say on a beat as long as it's about some money. When you try to think hard and write it out, that's when it's gonna be fucked up."
Young Scooter's latest project, Trap's Last Hope, was released in March 2023. The album features songs like Grind Don't Stop, Ice Game, Free Bands, and Letter to God.

While the loss of any life is sad, it's vital to understand the context before engaging in emotional responses and unsubstantiated claims.

Instead of focusing on pursuing minor offenses, police should be tackling serious crime! This is outrageous!
