In response to the Taiwan military's annual Han Kuang exercise, which simulates a mainland attack on Taiwan, Chen dismisses it as mere posturing. He asserts that the PLA has the will and capability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Chen also criticizes the Taiwan military's claims of PLA aircraft crossing the "median line" of the Taiwan Straits and entering Taiwan's airspace. He reiterates that there is no such thing as the "median line" and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory.
