Through the power of virtual reality (VR), viewers can experience four renowned kagura performances from unique perspectives, including the dancer's own. "Mera no Kagura," "Takaharu no Kanme," "Shiiba Kagura," and "Takachiho no Yokoagura" come alive in a way never before possible, fostering a deeper appreciation for the intricate movements and storytelling inherent in kagura. These VR experiences will initially be available at events within Miyazaki and will be released online after the 2025 World Expo in Osaka.

This platform offers insightful explanations of key elements like the "torimono" (implements held by dancers) and traditional musical instruments. This initiative extends beyond Miyazaki's borders. Governors from 24 prefectures where kagura is practiced have joined forces to form a "governors' union for kagura inheritance and promotion." Recognizing the threat posed by population decline and depopulation to the continuation of this art form, they are committed to revitalizing kagura and ensuring its legacy for future generations.
