A 10-year-old boy from a village in Lingshui county, South China's Hainan Province, miraculously survived a 24-hour drift at sea. The boy, who went out to catch squid, fell asleep and drifted a whole day and night before being rescued by a fishing boat in Sanya.
The boy's perilous journey began on Friday evening when he went squid fishing near his village. Exhausted, he fell asleep on his small boat and drifted away. Lost at sea, he saw distant lights but was too weak to paddle against the strong waves and relentless winds.
Fortunately, a group of fishermen spotted the boy's small green boat and heard his cries for help. They approached and rescued him, bringing him back to shore and handing him over to the local police. The boy was severely sunburned but otherwise in stable condition.
The boy's parents were overjoyed to be reunited with their son. Local authorities provided safety education and arranged psychological counseling for the boy. The incident served as a reminder of the importance of safety precautions when venturing out to sea, especially for young children.

I'm glad the boy is okay, but this shouldn't be a feel-good story. It's a warning for parents and authorities to prioritize child safety. 🚫

This incident exposes a gap in safety protocols and awareness. We need a comprehensive safety program to protect kids working or playing near the water. 🚨

I'm glad the fishermen found him, but the whole situation should never have occurred. This could have been a tragedy. 🙏

I agree. It's a miracle, but also a call for increased awareness and safety measures in fishing communities around the world. We need to protect young people! ❗
