Barak Valley Development Department receives Rs 100 crore in budget
The Assam government has allocated Rs 100 crore to the Barak Valley Development Department in the budget, reflecting its commitment to the region's development. Minister Kaushik Rai announced that the construction of the Barak Valley Secretariat will be completed by October-November this year.
The new department, formed in December 2022, aims to coordinate development efforts across all departments. Rai emphasized the government's focus on balanced development between Barak and Brahmaputra valleys, highlighting various projects and schemes implemented.
Infrastructure projects to boost connectivity and development
Connectivity projects are also receiving significant attention. The East-West Corridor construction is expected to be completed by January 2024, while a new Rs 25,000 crore road project connecting Barapani to Panchgram has been announced. These projects aim to enhance connectivity and boost the region's development.
A new chapter of development for Barak Valley
The Barak Valley Development Department, with its dedicated budget and focus on infrastructure, marks a new chapter for the region. These initiatives aim to accelerate progress and bring about all-round development, transforming Barak Valley into a "Vikshit Barak" (Developed Barak).
