China Dominates Thailand in Men's Ice Hockey at Asian Winter Games
China secured its first victory at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games, defeating Thailand 8-0 in the men's ice hockey Group A match on Friday, February 7th.
The Chinese team, having previously lost to South Korea and Kazakhstan in their opening games, displayed a strong offensive performance, establishing a commanding 3-0 lead in the first period. Goals from Zhang Pengfei, Zhang Zesen, and Wang Jing further extended their advantage to 6-0 before the final period.
Wang added another goal in the final period, while Yan Juncheng completed a hat-trick, solidifying China's 8-0 victory.
Meanwhile, South Korea defeated Japan 5-2, and Kazakhstan crushed Chinese Taipei 17-0 in other Group A matches played on Friday.
Following three rounds of competition, Kazakhstan remains undefeated and leads Group A, followed by South Korea, Japan, and China. Thailand and Chinese Taipei, both without a win, occupy the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
