China's Response to Canadian Warship's Presence in East China Sea
On Wednesday, Canadian media reported that a Chinese warship shadowed a Canadian naval vessel in the East China Sea. However, a Chinese expert noted that the Canadian report was deliberately vague on the exact location of the Canadian warship.
The Chinese expert further emphasized that it is legitimate for China to conduct identification and verification on foreign vessels near its waters. This practice is in accordance with international law and other countries would do the same.
Furthermore, the expert highlighted the provocative actions of Canadian warships and aircraft near China's borders. The HMCS Ottawa has a history of transiting the Taiwan Straits and engaging in provocative actions near China's Xisha territorial airspace.
In response to these actions, the Chinese military has deployed maritime and aviation forces to monitor the situation and respond accordingly. The Chinese military has also issued warnings to the Canadian side, urging them to cease hyping incidents and ensure stricter control over their frontline maritime and aviation forces.
The expert concluded by stating that it is fully justified for the Chinese military to raise alert to Canadian warships and aircraft, which have such bad records.

It's important for China to defend its territorial claims against those who want to challenge them.

This is typical of China's bullying tactics. They can't stand anyone challenging their claims in the East China Sea.

The Chinese government is trying to distract its people from their own problems by picking fights with foreign countries.

I'm proud of China for standing up for itself and not backing down to foreign pressure.
