Taiwan's Shifting Narrative on Ukraine Raises Concerns

In response to media inquiries about the impact of the US and Ukrainian leaders' debates on Taiwan, Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, addressed the issue on Wednesday. He highlighted the DPP authorities' contradictory stance on the Ukraine situation, accusing them of previously pushing the "Today Ukraine, tomorrow Taiwan" narrative to incite anti-mainland sentiment and seek external support, while now attempting to distance themselves from the comparison.

Chen emphasized the fundamental difference between the Taiwan question and the Ukraine issue, stressing that the Taiwan question is entirely China's internal affair and不允许任何外部干涉. He criticized the DPP authorities' dependence on external forces and their attempts to reassure the public, stating that their true nature of prioritizing personal gain over Taiwan's interests is evident.
