Department of Homeland Security and FBI Crack Down on Swatting Attacks Targeting Conservative Media
In a joint effort to combat the rise in swatting incidents targeting conservative media figures, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the FBI have vowed to track down and prosecute those responsible.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and FBI Director Kash Patel have both condemned the practice, which involves making false 911 calls to send armed police to someone's home under false pretenses.
"Under President Trump's leadership, we will not sit idly by as conservative media and their families are being targeted by false swatting," Noem wrote in a post. "We will use our resources to hunt these cowards down. This is an attack on our law enforcement and innocent families, and we will prosecute it as such."
Patel echoed Noem's sentiments, stating that the FBI is aware of the "alarming rise" in swatting incidents and is taking action to investigate and hold those responsible accountable. He emphasized that weaponizing law enforcement against any American is morally reprehensible and endangers lives.
Several conservative media figures, including radio hosts, podcasters, and influencers, have reported being victims of swatting in recent weeks. Joe Pagliarulo, a conservative radio talk show host, described being awakened at 2 a.m. by armed deputies responding to a false report of a hostage situation at his home.
Other victims include podcaster Nick Sortor, host Shawn Farash, and InfoWars host Owen Shroyer. A bipartisan bill has been introduced in Congress to strengthen penalties against those found guilty of making swatting calls, with prison sentences of up to 20 years for false calls resulting in serious injury or death.
The DHS and FBI are committed to working with local law enforcement to crack down on these crimes and ensure the safety of all Americans, regardless of their political affiliation.

This is just another example of the government's hypocrisy. They claim to be protecting people, but they're the ones putting people at risk.

This is a slippery slope. If the government can target conservatives for swatting, what's next?

This is a waste of taxpayer money. There are more important things to worry about.

This is just the beginning. We need to keep up the pressure on the government to protect our rights.

This is just another example of the government's inability to protect its citizens. They're more interested in controlling them.
