A Delta Connection Flight 4814, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced an incident while landing at LaGuardia International Airport in New York on Sunday. The plane, with 80 people on board, was attempting a "go-around" due to an unstable approach when its left wing struck the runway surface.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the plane landed safely after the incident. The FAA is investigating the cause of the unstable approach and the subsequent wing strike.
The flight was traveling from Jacksonville, Florida, to LaGuardia. Delta Air Lines, the parent company of Endeavor Air, issued a statement apologizing for the experience and confirming that the flight crew followed established procedures for a safe go-around.
The aircraft involved was a CRJ-900 with 76 passengers, two pilots, and two flight attendants.
