US Airstrikes in Yemen Kill 53, Injure 100
The United States' airstrikes on Yemen's Houthi rebels have killed at least 53 people, including five women and two children, and injured nearly 100 others. The airstrikes targeted Yemen's capital, Sanaa, as well as other provinces, including Saada, the rebels' stronghold near the border with Saudi Arabia.
The Houthis' political bureau has vowed to "meet escalation with escalation" in response to the strikes. They also claimed to have targeted the USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group with missiles and a drone, but US officials denied tracking any such attack.
Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for "utmost restraint and a cessation of all military activities," warning of the "grave risks" to the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen.
On Saturday, former US President Donald Trump announced a "decisive and powerful" military action against the Houthis, accusing them of piracy, violence, and terrorism targeting Americans. He stated that the US would use "overwhelming lethal force" against the Houthis and accused them of disrupting trade and commerce by "choking" transportation through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden.
Trump also condemned the Houthi attack on American vessels, stating that it would not be tolerated and that the US would use overwhelming force until its objectives were achieved. He further accused the Houthis of attacking the principle of Freedom of Navigation, upon which international trade and commerce depend.

This action sends a strong message to other groups who might consider targeting the US or its allies. It shows that the US will not tolerate terrorism.

This is outrageous! Targeting civilians and children is a war crime. Those responsible need to be held accountable.

This is just another example of the US flexing its military muscle on the world stage. They need to learn diplomacy and stop acting like bullies.

The US needs to listen to the UN and cease all military activities in Yemen. This war needs to end before more lives are lost.

The US is not acting alone, it is working with its allies to counter the threat posed by the Houthis. This is a coordinated international effort.

The US is not trying to control Yemen, it is trying to help create a stable and prosperous country. This action is part of a broader effort to support the Yemeni people.
