Former Philippine President Duterte Detained and Sent to ICC
Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was detained on Tuesday after arriving at the Manila International Airport from a weekend trip abroad. The detention was based on an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for "crimes against humanity" related to his "war on drugs" campaign.
Duterte questioned his detention, stating that he was not aware of any crime he had committed. He was subsequently flown to The Hague, Netherlands, to face the ICC.
The Philippine government, under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., has stated that it will not cooperate with the ICC investigation but will comply with its obligations to Interpol.
China has expressed concern over the situation, urging the ICC to act prudently and avoid politicization.
Legal experts have noted that the ICC's arrest warrant would only be possible with the Philippine government's consent and waiver of any immunity for Duterte. The investigation and potential trial will be a significant case, raising questions about accountability and justice on an international scale.

The Philippine government is right not to cooperate with the ICC. We don't need their interference.
