Party-Wide Education Campaign Launched to Improve Work Conduct
A nationwide education campaign has been launched to implement the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving work conduct. The campaign, approved by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, will run until July this year.
The decision was made at a meeting held by the Central Leading Group for Party Building in Beijing on Wednesday. Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Central Leading Group for Party Building, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Xi, another member of the Standing Committee and deputy head of the Leading Group, also attended and spoke at the meeting.
The meeting emphasized the importance of aligning with the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee in both thinking and action. It called for persistent improvement in the entire Party's conduct and for ensuring the full implementation of the eight-point decision.
The meeting also urged efforts to examine issues hindering the sound implementation of the decision, refine relevant systems and regulations in a targeted manner, and guard against pointless formality and perfunctory attitudes.

Instead of focusing on conduct, we need to create a more transparent and accountable system that prevents misconduct in the first place.

This feels like a publicity stunt to make the Party look good, rather than a genuine attempt to address misconduct.
