President Donald Trump spoke at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., on Friday. He addressed the issue of fentanyl poisoning and its impact on American citizens.
Trump highlighted the severity of the problem, stating that more Americans died from fentanyl last year than in the Korean War, Iraq War, or Afghanistan War combined. He attributed the rise in fentanyl deaths to President Joe Biden's open border policies, the cartels, and countries like Mexico, Canada, and China.
Trump invited Anne Fundner, an anti-drug activist and mother who lost her son to fentanyl poisoning, to speak at the event. Fundner thanked Trump and his administration for their efforts to combat the fentanyl crisis, including shutting down the border, targeting cartels, and instituting tariffs.
In a touching moment, Trump leaned in to hug Fundner and said, "He's up there watching you. He's so proud of mom." He also addressed a group of parents who lost children to fentanyl, saying, "Your daughters, your sons, they're looking down on you, and they're loving you like crazy."
Trump stated that the DEA and FBI have seized 1 million deadly doses of fentanyl since he took office. He also announced an all-out war on fentanyl traffickers and hinted at the possibility of considering the death penalty for certain cartel drug trafficking crimes.
Trump concluded his speech by stating that his administration would not rest until the fentanyl epidemic in America is ended. He also announced plans to launch a series of ads to emphasize the negative effects of drug use.

His policies are only going to increase violence and militarization along the border.

The death penalty is not a solution to the drug problem. It's cruel and inhumane.

He's right to call out Biden's weak border policies.

His 'solutions' are all about punishment and crackdowns, which never solve drug problems.

He's using the grief of families to push his own agenda, which is sickening.
