Maureen Rickards, a remorseless wife, was found guilty of killing her husband, Jeremy Rickards. She hid his body under bushes in their garden.
Maureen claimed Jeremy had gone to Saudi Arabia for work and died there. However, evidence revealed she directed gardeners to cover his body and used his bank card for purchases.
Jeremy was last seen on June 7th with injuries. Tenants reported hearing noises and seeing Maureen in the garden after his disappearance.
Video evidence showed Maureen shouting and beating Jeremy. His body was found strangled and stabbed, hidden in a cupboard with bloodstains spreading to the ceiling below.
Maureen attempted to cover up the murder by messaging their daughter from Jeremy's phone, claiming he had died in Saudi Arabia.
The jury saw through her lies, and she was convicted of murder.
"She has shown no remorse," said Detective Inspector Colin McKeen. "This case highlights the dangers of domestic abuse and the importance of reporting it."
Maureen will be sentenced next month.
