According to Philippine police Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre, former President Rodrigo Duterte reacted defiantly during his arrest, threatening to sue a police general who attempted to detain him. Duterte also adamantly refused the fingerprinting process and declared to law enforcement authorities that they would have to kill him before bringing him to The Hague, signaling a strong resistance to the charges against him.
The tense situation unfolded on Tuesday during a twelve-hour standoff at a Philippine air base in Manila. Eventually, law enforcement officers led by Torre managed to convince and escort the 79-year-old former president onto an official jet chartered by the government.
Subsequently, Duterte was flown directly to The Hague in the Netherlands, following orders from the International Criminal Court. The global court detained him upon arrival, as he now faces accusations and legal proceedings regarding alleged serious human rights violations categorized as crimes against humanity.

I hope this serves as a warning to other leaders who think they can get away with human rights violations.

The real criminals are the drug lords and terrorists, not Duterte who fought against them.
