Steph Curry has joined the ranks of high-profile investors in Unrivaled, a startup 3-on-3 women's basketball league.
Curry's investment was part of Unrivaled's oversubscribed Series A investment round in December, which raised a total of $35 million for the league. Other investors include Carmelo Anthony, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Coco Gauff, Michael Phelps, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Dawn Staley, and Geno Auriemma.
"I am incredibly proud to be joining the Unrivaled family as the league continues to set a new standard for how women's professional sports should operate," Curry said in a statement. "Unrivaled is not just innovating the way we play basketball, but also how we value and invest in the athletes who drive the game forward."
Unrivaled, founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, recently wrapped up its regular season and will host a two-day postseason next Sunday and Monday. The first semifinal will feature Angel Reese's second-seeded Rose team against Alyssa Thomas and the No. 3 seed Laces. Collier's top-seeded Lunar Owls will take on Dearica Hamby, Aliyah Boston, and No. 4 Vinyl in the other semifinal. The winners will advance to Monday's final.

Curry and others joining just for cool points and investing hype. Bet he won't even follow the league closely.

Highly skeptical of these celebrity-driven sports leagues. Seems like a money grab disguised as advocacy.
