Measles Exposure at Montreal Canadiens Game
Public health officials in Montreal are warning the public about a potential measles exposure at a recent NHL game. An individual who was contagious with the measles virus and unvaccinated attended the Canadiens vs. Buffalo Sabres game at the Bell Centre on March 3rd.
People who were spectators or concession workers in the red area of seats in sections 111 to 117 between 5:30 p.m. and midnight are considered measles contacts. Additionally, workers at the Tim Hortons and Pizza Pizza inside the arena are also considered contacts.
Unvaccinated individuals who were in these areas are advised to isolate at home until March 17th. While individuals outside the designated measles risk area may have been exposed, they are not considered contacts and should monitor for symptoms.
This incident comes amidst a recent measles outbreak in Quebec, with 31 confirmed cases reported between mid-December and March 7th. The majority of these cases (24) have occurred in the Laurentians region north of Montreal.

Vaccinating our communities prevents this unnecessary stress, isolation, and worry. Let’s not go backward!
