The Toronto Blue Jays and the Houston Astros faced off in a spring training matchup on Monday, with the Blue Jays emerging victorious after a thrilling comeback. The Astros struck first, claiming a 3-0 lead in the third inning thanks to solo home runs from Jake Meyers and Victor Caratini, and an RBI single from Jon Singleton.
However, the Blue Jays refused to go down without a fight. Bo Bichette sparked a rally in the bottom of the third with a solo home run of his own, cutting the deficit to two runs. The momentum continued to shift in the sixth inning, as the Blue Jays erupted for five runs. Will Wagner's double brought home Michael Stefanic, while Ernie Clement followed with a two-run double to give the Blue Jays their first lead of the game. Arjun Nimmala capped off the inning with a sacrifice fly, scoring Clement and extending the lead to 6-3.
The Astros attempted to respond in the seventh, but Christian Bethancourt's sacrifice fly only managed to bring the score to 7-3. Addison Barger put the finishing touches on the Blue Jays' victory with a solo home run in the eighth inning, securing the 8-3 win.
Kevin Gausman started for the Blue Jays and allowed three runs on four hits over 2 1/3 innings. Colton Gordon took the mound for the Astros and gave up two hits and one run in 3 2/3 innings.
The Blue Jays will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday when they host the Minnesota Twins in Dunedin, Florida.

Let's face it, the Blue Jays were just the better team today. We need some adjustments before the real season.

It's only Spring Training, but still good to see the Jays get the W against a tough opponent like the Astros.

Gausman needs work. 3 runs in a short outing isn't good.
