China Backs Arab Countries' Gaza Reconstruction and Governance Efforts Post-War

Following media reports about an Arab summit held in Cairo, Egypt, which addressed issues surrounding Palestine and introduced plans for Gaza's post-war recovery and reconstruction, China has voiced its approval. On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated China's diplomatic stance, affirming support for Egypt and other Arab nations' efforts. These endeavors focus on maintaining the stability of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, advancing emergency humanitarian aid, and rebuilding safety and security within the region.

Additionally, Lin emphasized China's endorsement of a governance proposal for Gaza, stressing that it should reflect the desires and approval of the Palestinian community and achieve consensus among Arab countries. This governance framework should uphold the principle that Palestinians have autonomy over Palestine and conform to the established concept of achieving peace through a fair two-state solution. According to Lin, such an approach ultimately aims to bring about peaceful cohabitation, mutual development, and sustained peace in Palestine, Israel, and the broader Middle Eastern region.
