PLA Air Force Integrates AI into Pilot Recruitment Program for 2025

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force has integrated new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), into its annual pilot recruitment program for 2025 to boost precision in selection.

The final selection phase of the PLA Air Force's 2025 pilot recruitment program has been fully initiated. This year's pilot recruitment selection has introduced new technologies and new equipment, with AI deeply integrated into the recruitment process.

The final selection phase is the last hurdle in the recruitment process. It primarily consists of medical and psychological evaluations, with the medical evaluations encompassing more than 100 different tests.

This year's pilot recruitment selection has incorporated cutting-edge technologies and equipment, such as contact-free 3D body morphology measurement, wearable dynamic electrocardiogram monitoring and AI-assisted interview decision-making systems.

The AI-assisted system has been deeply integrated into the interview process, which enables technologies to interpret the physical elements, and leaves the human elements to the experts.

AI plays multiple roles in the recruitment process, acting as a precise evaluator, data analyst and bridge for human-machine collaboration by interpreting candidates' physical signals, penetrating psychological appearances and predicting long-term risks.

Based on big data and optimized algorithms, AI can form a decision-making system to assist pilot recruitment finding talented candidates and filter out those with hidden shortcomings.

The recruited candidates under the assistance of AI should hopefully become more capable pilots.

The PLA Air Force are setting up evaluation centers across the country from mid-February to end April for high school graduates who have passed preliminary evaluations, then additional evaluation centers will be established at multiple locations for those who performed well in gaokao, China's college entrance examinations, in mid- to late June.

This is a more sustainable way to select pilots. AI can help to reduce the need for traditional testing methods, which can be wasteful and environmentally damaging.

This is a waste of resources. There are better ways to spend money than on developing this technology.

This is a responsible use of AI technology. The PLA Air Force is using AI to augment human decision-making, not to replace it.

This is a necessary step to keep up with the evolving landscape of warfare. AI is already being used by other militaries, and China needs to stay ahead of the curve.

This is a form of discrimination. AI algorithms can be biased, and this could lead to discrimination against certain groups of people.

This will help to level the playing field for all candidates. AI can help to identify talented candidates regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.
