LeBron James Makes History with 50,000 Career Points
LeBron James has once again cemented his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. In a recent game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers superstar became the first NBA player to score 50,000 career points.
This achievement adds to James' already impressive list of accomplishments. He is already the league's all-time leading scorer, having surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's regular-season record in 2023. Now, he extends his lead even further, with nearly 6,000 more total career points than Abdul-Jabbar's 44,149.
Following James and Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone ranks third with 41,689 points, the late Kobe Bryant sits fourth with 39,283, and Michael Jordan rounds out the top five with 38,279.
