Jilin Province Embraces Cultural Tourism Integration
Jilin province is actively exploring the deep integration of culture and tourism, aligning itself with Northeast China's overall regional tourism development strategy. This was highlighted by deputies from the province's delegation during an open panel discussion at the National People's Congress in Beijing.
Sun Guangzhi, an NPC deputy and head of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, emphasized the province's efforts to enhance its cultural resources and leverage them as a driving force for tourism development. Museums in Jilin witnessed a remarkable 70% increase in visits last year compared to the previous year, demonstrating the potential of cultural attractions to boost tourism.
Jilin's strategy involves upgrading museums, opening national archaeological ruins parks, hosting red tourism-themed festivals, and organizing intangible cultural heritage markets. These initiatives aim to provide the public with diverse and enriching cultural and tourism experiences.
The province is also exploring innovative ways to integrate cultural tourism with other aspects of life. Educational tourism is being promoted through the development of dedicated study tour areas. Additionally, Jilin is actively integrating sports with cultural tourism by hosting international and domestic athletic events to attract travelers.
The booming ice and snow leisure economy further adds to the province's tourism appeal. Jilin's commitment to cultural tourism integration positions it as a key player in Northeast China's tourism landscape.

So they're investing in tourism again. What about industrial development or education reform instead?

Typical bureaucratic speak—lots of promises but what are the tangible outcomes for ordinary people?

Sounds like yet another superficial approach to development—Jilin needs concrete actions, not glossy headlines.

Another flashy project wasting taxpayer money, they should focus on real economic issues instead!
