A leading Chinese medical specialist has advocated for combined efforts in the medical research and pharmaceutical circles to combat pancreatic diseases, which present significant challenges in both clinical and global health contexts. The call for collaboration aims to promote innovative breakthroughs that benefit not only patients within China but also those around the world.
Zhao Yupei, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, expressed these views during a signing ceremony in Beijing. Zhao emphasized the importance of achieving greater scientific advancements, creating distinctively Chinese standards for the prevention and treatment of pancreatic diseases, and bringing Eastern insight into international medical guidelines.
As the president of the Chinese Association of Pancreatology (CAP), Zhao articulated his hopes for strengthened partnerships between CAP and Jiangsu-based pharmaceutical company, Hengrui Pharma. Zhao encouraged the launch of a public service initiative called the "Pancreatic Health China Initiative," which would focus on bettering grassroots medical facilities' access to high-quality care. Such initiatives align with policies set by the National Health Commission in China, aiming at improving public health resources and overall medical accessibility.
